I stand corrected  A rant by: FreedomFries Quite a while back I ranted about people talking about the nice weather. It was into November, and I was angry that people were saying "Wouldnt it be great if it stayed nice all winter?" I figured, this is Winnipeg, since when has it ever been nice all winter? Well, so far I stand corrected. This has been an amazing winter so far. If we could only get through January, or at least half way through with weather like we've been having, our winter won't be so bad. It's great when you can walk around downtown to go see a Moose game wearing only a spring jacket in January. The constant freeze/thaw has it's effect on people that invest major dollars in to a hobby like snowmobiling or even skiing. The trails are really rough and in some circumstances are too rough for the groomers to go down. The new stretch of asphalt on the south perimeter is all lumps now. Great waste of money thanks to nice weather. Angrywpg-It could have been me on my yami 4 stroker. I was passing alot of cars. But at 90m/hr thats to be expected. As for polluting, weren't you driving a car? Or was it a hybrid chevette? You should appreciate us snowmobilers. We spend lots of money on taxes (oil,gas and machine) that all helps the economy. BTW, nice job getting your chevette up to 100! Downhill by chance? |

Loving the weather! When I moved here exactly one year ago today, it was -40 outside. I remember waiting for my husnad to get the car. I sat outside so that I could prove to him that I would be able to handle the temperature. Little did I know that he would be gone over a half an hour. It seems while we were getting mariied in Cincinnati that a huge snowstorm dumped a ton of snow and the airport decided that they would plow a lot of snow aound our car. Terry had to did out with the help of a Bobcat. LOL. This is a great winter and it has been nice to enjoy the city.
