AUTO THEFT ALL TIME LOW  A rant by: BigB As you may or not be aware, Auto theft has dropped substantially over the last 6mths. Autopac claims that this is because of their ad campain’s. I think this is ridiculous. Do you really think 14yr old kids with child abusing parents listen to these ad's and if they do would they actually take them to heart? Of course not! The real reason that auto theft has dropped is because I stopped driving Chrysler Intrepid's. My last car was a favourite in the neighbourhood. I'm not sure if it was because it was such a sharp looking car, the non-tinted windows that displayed my factory cassette deck, or maybe my aftermarket floor mats. But the little heathens thrived on joyriding my baby. I live in a "higher class" ($170-230,000 homes) development and to my surprise auto theft is everywhere. In 8 mths my car was stolen 3 times. All of these times being between 2 and 4 am. Oddly enough of those 8mths i didn't park in the garage a total of 5 times. So you'd think there was a personal vendetta here. But that can't be, i never have/make enemies (jk). So it turned out to be a 13year old with 136 charges against him. It's amazing how our justice system works. Had the third time not been a write off on Christmas morning (I had pre-packed all the Christmas presents in the car and rather then Christmas w/ my family i walked around the neighbourhood collecting parts of my car) the kid wouldn’t know my wrath. But he felt it in full stride. I testified in court and let the world know how emotionally damaged my family and I are from this kids actions. Juvy wasn't an option for this kid. He's now the youngest inmate Manitoba has ever seen and its all my fault. I'm sure he's had some of them over the year and who are you to say I’m going to raise kids like him when you think the answer to good behaviour and happiness comes from material possessions. If the kid becomes a “career criminal” that is no ones fault but his own. Our beloved justice system gives the opportunity to gain education, eat and live in healthy conditions, exercise and experience manly love (that will either make him not want to go back to jail or be a queer like you wish you could have raised him to be). And why are we questioning my parenting? I turn on the tv and leave a bowl of water for them when I go out drinking. That screams responsible parent. There is no better way to potty-train them then to leave them in dirty diapers crying all night. Even if they are 8mth old twins! It's one thing to let the justice system deal with a repeat offender. But there is something called AUTOPAC for your car. Whats your worry? I've never met someone that didn't get more then their car was worth from them, So why are you taking the law into your own hands? Let's review what this got you. Blood on your car and baseball bat or wrench. Had to take time off work to go down to the law courts to plead your case. Some sort of sick enjoyment from beating the shat out of a 11year old kid. You must realize that the majority of these crimes are committed by mere children, as in the case that spurred this rant. They are not especially knowledgeable, nor are they using sophisticated equipment... the two cars I had stolen were done using a flathead screwdriver. All a potential thief needs to know are the models that are still vulnerable to this. That is not too complicated, most domestic models are prime targets. Other vehicles (German especially) are difficult targets, and hence stolen less. Blame the American manufacturers who didn't spend an extra $3 on your ignition, in a desperate attempt to keep costs down to give the appearance they can compete with import models which have become increasingly affordable. It stings me every time I have to aknowledge this- you get what you pay for. However, when you have one of these vehicles, you become more likely to experience vandalism. Five years ago, I had an old BMW in a humble neighborhood. I must emphasize- this car was not flashy- unless you're a big fan of rust spots. My car was vandalized six times in two years, each time resulting in me paying for the deductible. I recall one time I had my car parked at Marion and Main in the parking lot. I left the ca with two leather jackets in the back seat, a bunch of CD's, and even some money plainly visible in the center console. I returned to find my window broken out, and expected everything to be gone, just as you did... but it was all still there! I didn't know whether to be glad or insulted. I hate to be sexest, but they are just way more desireable as a target for predators.Once they get a taste of the hard ass drugs they got now, they'd stab thier grandma for a dollar. Most sell thier bodies.These kids get attention as they look all cute and nice, but they would stab you just as soon as look at you. They don't care, no one is doing anything to make them care, and to truely fix the problem, they'd have to FORCE the parents to clean themselves up, and get a job and look after thier kids. So if you don't want your car stolen or your taxes to go up then we should not allow more idiots to have kids and not look after them. but of course we are Canada, and no adays we don't force anyone to do anything right.....lol. |

Heartless beast! What about this kid's life? Obviously he just need's parents to show him love and attention. You can't imprision a child, that's when they call it con-college. I hope you realize you have either shattered a child's already broken heart or you have made a poor behaved child into a career criminal. All this boy needed was a good home, maybe a pet dog and a shiny red bike. I wouldn't be suprised if your kid's turn out just like him!
