Winnipeg World Juniors

A rant by: telcan

Ive been watching the world juniors over the past few weeks and although the vancouver fans are making a bit of noise, no one compares to the crazy fans we have here in winnipeg.

Whoever had a chance to go to the world juniors in Grand forks last year will agree, winnipeg has the rowdiest, trailerparkish fans, and that is what true hockey fans are.

They should host the world juniors in winnipeg more often than any other place. Were the loudest we drink the most beer and we entertain the best. I dont think you can find the same kinds of fans anywhere else.

I really dont think that winnipeg even cares about the canadian juior team we just love to cheer them on and blow it way out of proportion like true winnipeggers always do. When hockey finals are on winnipeggers put everythign else aside, people are happier at work, and the whole mood of the city is better.
I dont even think that we are the best hockey fans, we just love to come together and cheer something on. Thats what makes us different than the rest of the world,

Way to go team Canada!

You have no idea what you're talking about. Did you go to the east coast for the world jr's? are you in vancouver right now? The BC fans are booing the US team louder than we cheered for the Canadian team. All Canadians get excited about international hockey because it's the only thing that we're any good at.

It's things like this that will ensure an NHL team like the Nashville Predators or Carolina Hurricanes will move to Winnipeg. It's insulting Winnipeg's best hockey team is a farm team. (minor league)

oh crap... here it goes again....

What do you mean by that jammin? I'm confused.

He means that every third rant involves the white house, new arena and bringing back the jets on this site. And other then the three people that keep writing about it, none of us give a crap ne more. I actually am now against us getting a professional hockey team purely out of spite now. As for minor hockey, Did the Russians get their asses handed to them on a platter or what? Talk about a waste of televising hockey...

Yeah I didn't mean any offense, but if you look around the site, there are multiple posts where someone mentions the long awaited return of NHL hockey, and then people argue about it through 50 replies. All someone has to do is make a simple favorable comment about the Moose for example, and suddenly its post after post after post about why the Jets will or won't come back to Winnipeg. I'm hoping we'll cut off the debate this time, cause it's really been overdone already......

Yeah, well I think we should bring back the Thunder. It was truly the only sort of pro team, in which I was pretty sure I could have cracked the line-up

Winnipeg couldn't care less about basketball!

Regarding the \"Winnipegers drinking Grand Forks dry... not many other cities can say that\" comment: This is not an accomplishment worth boasting about since to be in Grand Forks, for a hockey tournament or otherwise, is to be in the sticks (Grand Forks=God Forsaken). It could be the case that people from other cities have drank that town dry but are too embarrassed to admit they were even there in the first place.
