Lets complain about snow ![]() A rant by: Anonymous Seems that no one has a desire to post rants lately. Perhaps it's because I put the fear into people because of my opinions. I saw this category and it made me think. Will people really have complaints on snow? Nothing bothers me more then people talking (complaining) about issues they (and others) can't control. Issues such as gas prices, mosquitos, the weather, etc. It seems like so many people would have nothing to talk about if they didn't discuss these issues. Or of course you can rush home to catch the new and hear about who got bombed where, and how many people died in a plane crash or were stabbed on the news. I personally don't associate me with any of these meaningless facts. I keep up to date about politics (where i need to), what size of engines the new model year ford trucks offer, beer alcohol contents and the sunshine girls likes and dislikes. But other then that, what does the news have to offer to make you a better person? All it does for you is give you something to talk about if you are not capable of maintaining a easy conversation. I know you are asking; "what kind of conversation should we have"? I like to talk about pressing issues. Things like: what foods taste best when coming back up, what motor oil truely is the best for your wallet and vehicle, which soda tastes best with uncle jesse's moonshine, how many monkeys it takes to make aids, etc. That been said, Lets talk about snow. Have you ever noticed that three months into winter we are told that the snow clearing budget has been used up? Seriously, we hear this every year. Don't you think they should start over budgeting? Whatever is leftover at the end of the year the politians could use for gambling and hookers. This way we all win. Because there is nothing that pisses me off more then driving to the other side of the city in my IROC when its 47 below and im going through 4 feet of snow to find out that my boss with a 4x4 couldn't even make it in and its a snow day! Everyone gets paid to sit on their asses at home while im spending the day thawing snow out of my mittens and trying to convince my car that we can make it back home. << Back Add a Comment Comments ( Add a Comment ) Anonymous says: 2005-12-16 21:58:55 Further more, what is this about snow removal equipment being out of town. what a load of crap. Please tell me the people scheduling the snow removal have been living here more than six months, and realize this happens every year. I sit in my living room and watch the snow removal equipment sometimes 4 at a time following each other apparently going over a main road that is already clear. No wonder the budget is blown two weeks into winter. I don't understand why they cannot start the clearing process from the first day it snows instead of three days later when it has settled and has become a driving nightmare. Maybe then we wouldn't have to wait five further days for them to get to the streets where people actually live and need to get out of. Get a grip City of Winnipeg Works. I think it is time we stop paying for snow removal equipment to follow each other being absolutely useless. |

Hey Mario-if you could get your IROC to fire when its 47 below, and then get through 4 feet of snow when your boss couldn't make it in his 4x4, perhaps you should reconsider your commitment to the fast food industry. Your boss obviously has.
