Police chief 'for' gun registry??? ![]() A rant by: WinterSix So what is the definition of corrupt? A police officers job is to protect and serve the interests of the general public. As soon as they start using their power for their own benefit before the people, that, I would say, is classified as corrupt. Our chief recently stated that he was 'For' the national gun registry. This seems odd, because everyone knows that criminals are not going to register their guns. So how does this benefit us the people??? Criminals will still have guns, and people will still get killed. It does not benefit the people. Who does it benefit? It benefits the police. How does this benefit the police?....It benefits them by giving them more power. You see, right now, the police have no power to harass law biding citizens. They can't just walk into your house and start pushing you around. This really bugs corrupt police officers, so How do they get around this? Well a corrupt police chief would enforce a gun registry. This allows the police the power to go into law biding citizens houses if they have a gun registered. Now all of a sudden, there is a need for more police because the number of potential criminals has drastically increased. Every farmer, hunter, and general gun enthusiast is now a potential criminal. I say throw out the gun registry, and anyone who supports it. Lets spend our money on catching criminals, not turning innocent people into criminals. << Back Add a Comment Comments ( Add a Comment ) BigB says: 2006-02-01 17:17:18 Guns dont kill people, I DO! |

While I agree that the Gun Registry is a dumb idea and I'd be all for throwing it out, we live in a Democracy. That means that people are free to express their idea's and opinions. Firearms laws are an area of interest to me and to be honest, most people base their opinion on a poor understanding of the situation. They think Guns=Bad. I don't think that you've got a case for corruption here, only incompetence.
