Got to hand it to him... he has cojones

A rant by: THETRUTH

Just wondering if anyone else has seen that article in the paper on Harper telling the Americans that he was going to send military up north to defend our soverenty, to keep foreighn ships out of our waters off baffin island? It is funny. Like we could ever do anything to the Americans, if we ever even thought of challenging them they would blow us away. But I really liked it. I thought good for you. I really hope that Harper is as hard assed on other issues as this one. If he wants to raise our military might, he needs cash, cut welfare hence expanding jobs in the armed forces and all the people on welfare will join up anyways, so both will benifit.

Interesting ideas. I think it might actually work and you'd have to leave it to a western pm to try something like that. As for the talk of the United States blowing away the Canadians, I'm not so sure. Granted they have way more fire power, but we must not forget the importance of the war of 1812. Canada kicked the US's asses. Stormed the WhiteHouse and our military officials sat down to a still warm meal at the dinner table before they burned the white house to the ground. We have lots of friends world wide and the US has lots of enemies. I think if the good guys (Canada) were to be attacked by the bad guys (USA) we would have lots of backup. The law has spoken.

The U.S could invade us but as they are finding out in Iraq it is easier to invade than it is to hold a country, although Alberta would love to part of the U.S but then they are a bunch of dumb Americain wantabes anyway

It's like the idea behind bullies, they can't take on all of us. I may not like Harper, but having someone stand up to the Americans and not just call them idiots is nice.

You should be able to see through this. Harper has always been tied to American right wing conservatism, so what does he do as soon as he wins minority? He distances himself from the Americans while standing up to Canada. The fact that this all came about after a 15 minute talk with Bush kinda seals it. Winning a minority government essentially meant that Harper is just beginning another election campaign.

We should all begin rigorous training in Biathlon in preparation for the coming American invasion. We'll be an unstoppable force of skiiers.
