Freq 107 ![]() A rant by: FreedomFries Someone posted on here a while back about how much Freq 107 has sold out. I don't listen to them much anymore, but today there was nothing good on so I decided to put on "Winnipegs New Rock Alternative" Freq 107. Lets hear some "New Rock"! I turn it on, and they're blasting "Bullet with Butterfly Wings", Smashing Pumpkins. I thought, Did I just travel back in time? This song is considered New Rock??? First they sell out on the whole Christian thing, now they don't even stick to their new genre of New Rock. Freq! Maybe it's time to figure out what you want to be. In a little while we'll be listening to them and we'll hear: "We just finished another 3 in a row, including songs by, Britney Spears, Tu Pac Shakur, and Gordon Lightfoot.!" << Back Add a Comment Comments ( Add a Comment ) lilise says: 2005-11-10 17:21:03 I've been listening less and less to Freq since they've sold out. When I decided to decrease my intake of Freq, I originally thought that I would be seriously missing out... particularly on the new music scene. To be quite honest, I have no regrets and I don't miss Freq. I've discovered all the other stations that play great music and are (gasp!) cleaner than Freq... although, that's sadly not too difficult anymore. If Freq ever returns to the way they were, then maybe they'll regain my respect. BigB says: 2005-11-12 23:32:23 I strongly encourage people, especially that work for FREQ to check out my previous rant on this subject. jack49 says: 2006-01-06 13:15:18 I heard them play REM the other day haha when is hte last time rem came out with an album. todays new rock!!! freq 107 Anonymous says: 2006-07-15 02:24:58 Not to defend Freq, but by saying they\\\'re Winnipeg\\\'s New Rock Alternative, they mean the station, not the music. They\\\'re still promoting themselves as the Pegs newest rock radio station, which is equally pathetic. |

Also, for those of you who are unfamiliar with "Bullet with Butterfly Wings" It was released in 1995. I guess 10 years is considered New Rock.
