Comments on Decreasing Oil Supply ![]() A rant by: PortagerMovedCity Hi, This doesn't really fit in here, but I wanted to post it...see what or if anyone had something to say. I am relatively young and let's say ignorant in some circumstances, recently I have heard/read that our oil supply is going to be non-existent as early as 2010...do you guys believe there is any truth to this? Some people say I will never see it in my lifetime because they have been saying this since the 70s, and others say the 2010.... Any comments? << Back Add a Comment Comments ( Add a Comment ) BalthazaarRamrod says: 2005-12-19 14:19:18 Have you read anything on any of this Felix? Felix says: 2005-12-20 21:24:27 No I haven't, but they told us in school that oil comes from everything rotting and eventually turning to oil. THETRUTH says: 2005-12-27 00:26:20 that takes millons of years felix BalthazaarRamrod says: 2005-12-27 15:05:56 I don't care when the oil will run out. We should be doing something about it now, not then. Furthermore with countries like China becoming more and more industrialized you can count on our global use of oil to increase. I think it's time we started seriously looking at some of the alternative energy sources pioneered by private enterprise. nekochan says: 2006-01-31 17:25:01 And a flying car. Anonymous says: 2006-07-15 11:09:42 There will still be oil in 2010. Also, expect the price of gas to shock you for the rest of your life. Eventually, travelling fast or far will cost too much to take it for granted, and you will have to adjust your life more carefully around where you work, the food you eat, and the people you care about. Natural gas is coming to a much scarier peak, with price jumping faster than oil or gas. Since there are so many homes and businesses here in the north built based on the supply of natural gas, expect that addicition to be the harder one to break. Brrr. |

They told us the same thing back in the 1970's. Many people believed it, but as long as we can have land fill sites, we will be recycling everything back to oil eventually. They used to tell us that we are running out of land fill sites. Hasn't anyone heard of digging deeper holes?
