MPI Advertisements  A rant by: FreedomFries I was reading a comment in another rant, and someone had mentioned MPI commercials. This is my question....Why does MPI advertise??? They have absolutely no competition, so why should they be spending our money on commercials, billboards, and bus ads. I pay enough insurance as it is, I don't want my incredibly high premiums going to some stupid commercial. They try to encourage us to buy immobilizers, hmmm i wonder why? Right now if someone steals your vehicle you don't have to pay a deductible, but if they smash your window to steal it and don't succeed because of your immobilizer, you have to pay the deductible to fix your window. Another thing, guess what?!?!? Premiums are going up for motorcycles again!! The government requires us to have insurance,it has to be thier insurance, and we pay what they say we should. If they make a ginormous amount of money they don't refund the excess to us they filter it to the liberals. If it were fair, then they would pay out claims pay saleries and that would be it, but collecting enough to have 60million in surplus funds and not give us a break but actually raise it? What you didn't mention is that they are making this surplus while wasting more money than any other private insurer would waste. The 60 million you mentioned is probably more like 120 million when you take into account all of the wasted money. |

Unfortuntly motorcycle rates will continue to climb. Their intention is to make it so no manitobans ride bikes. Bikes are dangerous, Not because of the riders but bcs of the stupid drivers that don't watch what they are doing when behind the wheel. My fav commercial was the one w/ the guy and his lil bro ("geek in the back") picking up his gf ("i just went to pick up my CDS!!!"). It was poor acting and the point that came across is, 'Don't let woman sit in the front' (i think:). This new series of commercials involving how you are a lethal weapon when not belted in is rediculous. How many people honestly die from another passenger killing them? I think everyone is aware that it's in your best interest to wear a seatbelt and not smoke. But it should really be up to the users decision once they are of legal age. As for the wasting of money, A few years back MPIC tried to take surplus money and donate it to U of M. There was so much complaining that they ended up splitting it up between us subscribers. Maybe we should have that every year.
