advertising  A rant by: Anonymous i have a problem with the Mcdonald's of Winnipeg's method of advertising. the scheme is ingenius, but the delivery method is deplorable. towit, i check my yard and itis littered with empty mcdonald bags, burger wrappers, fry containers,and drink cups. obviously, mcdonalds expects me to recycle these items by returning them to participating stores where they will be refilled and i will be given a discount for recycling these items. this is very responsible, but the problem i have is that when these items are delivered to me, they have yet to be put in my mailbox.perhaps mcdonalds could employ a different delivery service, and at the same time check with health canada to ascertain that refilling used food containers falls within the parameters safe hygiene. << Back Add a Comment Comments ( Add a Comment ) BigB says: 2005-10-03 09:53:56 That's a unique way to rant about littering. I suggest in the future you actually rant about littering. I highly doubt McDonald's should take any responsibility for people littering wrappers they sold. The problem is that we don't have strict litter laws. One day I was at an intersection and i watched the guy in the car beside me throw his garbage out the window onto the ground. I asked him if he intended on picking it up and he said "no". It's a good thing I'm good at persuading. (6'4" 280lbs helps). After I blocked his car in and helped him open his door he was more then willing to take action in making Winnipeg a better city. They(parasites) are usually present in every forum that you will write into(just like CRAIG in wpg.general) and will feel the urge to write something (typically senseless) in the current forum that their attention happens to be on. Just like them, BigB's whole existence is defined by getting a reaction out of the people posting here, whether it's good or bad, just like a deprived child is desperately seeking constant attention. He/She achieves this by writing whatever ridiculous posts in the hope of hooking the actual poster(by getting a reply) just like bait catching a fish...The shallowness of their replies are matched only by their lack of knowledge of the English language displayed by the constant spelling mistakes (ex:conspiricy) in the content of their posts. BigB rarely has real, fact-founded opinions to write about, but cares very much about the fact that his/her posts are always visible in every subject even though he/she has no clue of what he/she is talking about. These forum people usually find salvation by eventually getting the rank of moderator. That is their whole purpose for reading and posting in such forums since their rank goes higher and higher after every post they put on the website. You want my advice: just filter whatever BigB is printing here whenever you read on this site and all of a sudden you find yourself with a very decent Forum.BTW, hats off to the creator of this site, I was in dire need of such a place to vent and ask questions about WPG, Good Job! When you consider that your average 5'7- 5'9 person is about 175 - 210, 280 for a guy who's 6'4 is not that big. And lastly the people working for McDonald's do not go out at night littering all over other properties. This is not a McDonald's issue. It is a littering issue. If people put their trash where it belongs there would not be a problem. Take your concern up with them. |

Very interesting observation. Unfortunately Canada's own Tim Hortons has the majority of advertising space in the ditches along our highways.
