Billboard ![]() A rant by: roscoe Anybody see the billboard on Bison Drive close to Pembina Hwy. that has only one word on it, that word being .... "Jesusmas" << Back Add a Comment Comments ( Add a Comment ) lilise says: 2005-12-05 23:26:16 "“Xmas” is not originally an attempt to exclude Christ from Christmas, but uses an abbreviation of the Greek spelling of the word “Christ” with the “X” representing the Greek letter chi. However, so few people know this that it is probably better not to use this popular abbreviation in religious contexts." From: http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/xmas.html roscoe says: 2005-12-07 19:11:17 OK, with a hot name like lilise, you are henceforth prohibited from saying anything intelligent. Have you ever been in a movie that had the term "SS" somewhere in it along with the term " She wolf of the " jack49 says: 2005-12-08 19:56:29 Roscoe, you're not gonna pick up chicks and get them to spend weekends with you playing dungons and dragons in your moms basement by calling them nazis. roscoe says: 2005-12-08 20:48:10 jack49, says a lot about you that you in fact have seen said movie. jack49 says: 2005-12-08 21:38:14 Sorry roscoe, i dont watch ur nazi movies, it doesnt take a genius to know what the SS was though. BalthazaarRamrod says: 2005-12-12 08:54:53 I like that. Christmas is owned by retail. If I were mayor, I would pass a law stating that no one in retail is allowed to decorae their stores before Nov. 30. I saw x-mas decore up in October this year. f***ing pigs. BigB says: 2005-12-15 23:23:38 What does any of this have to do w/ 'jesusmas?' roscoe says: 2005-12-18 20:03:00 It all has nothing to do with our usual X-mas, but hey, we're talking a Nazi X-mas .... I can just see old Marty Borman drunk as a skunk with a lamp shade on his head. And Eva Braun telling Adolf that he's had enough to drink, and he's making a fool of himself. nekochan says: 2006-01-03 12:29:55 I kinda like the billboard, helps to remind us what the season is supposed to be about. In regards to the comment about laws stating when retailers can start to show christmas stock, I heard that such a law exists in England. I can't remember the specifics, but it has something to do with no decorations until the beginning of December. BigRedS024 says: 2006-12-21 00:09:14 I work in a huge multicultural facility, where the trees put on display are referred to not as Christmas trees but holiday trees! We are encouraged to wish others a "Happy Holiday", not Merry Christmas! They have been renamed so as not to "offend" other ethnic groups! I'm going to assume, someone is as ticked by this as me and numerous others. Heaven forbid, we should offend others! The "Jesus People" formally known as Christians have to change, cause they be offending someone! I'm sick of these people that feel offended! Don't like it...feel free to move to another country to practice your religion, like Somalia, or Sudan or the new religious hot spot...Middle East!!! Beat it!!! SOLMoFo says: 2008-01-18 13:28:32 See? That's what makes Canada such a great country; we let anybody in, even unenlightened, intolerant bigots like Big Red who's obviously from 1950's Alabama. That is exactly why we all have to respect people's differences, who do YOU think would get kicked out first? |

hahaha. It's moments like this that make me miss winnipeg. I have to admit it has always been a pet-peeve the way people call Christmas X-mas. The truth is that the holiday was invented by christians as a way to celebrate the birth of christ. By crossing christ out of the name it's really showing no respect for the reason the holiday was invented. If that is the case then you should be celebrating the holiday w/ all the JW bastards! That's like taking remembering war out of rememberance day bcs you don't believe in caring about the people that died for our country.
